Doações para bibliotecas universitárias da América Latina
Uma extensa coleção de pesquisas e materiais didáticos em ciências sociais e ambientais reunidas pelo Global And Environment Institute, da Tufts University, está sendo doado sem custos a bibliotecas universitárias na América Latina.
Mais informação [[The materials were assembled by the Global Development And Environment Institute (GDAE) at Tufts University (Massachusetts, U.S.A.). They include:
– GDAE’s Social Science Library: “Frontier Thinking in Sustainable Development and Human Well-Being.” This well-organized collection of 3,400 articles in PDF format includes more than 10,000 full bibliographic references, and represents 7 social sciences: Anthropology, Economics, History, Philosophy, Political Science, Social Psychology, and Sociology. The collection is distributed on a single USB drive or (for those who prefer that technology) a pair of CD-ROMs. An online version, without the full-text articles (due to copyright restrictions), may be reviewed at: www.gdae.org/socialsciencelibrary
– A CD containing writings on environmental subjects from the WorldWatch Institute;
– Three CDs containing articles from the UN Research Institute for Social Development (UNRISD); and
– Four hours of multimedia DVDs developed in conjunction with “Water and Sanitation Related Diseases and the Environment: Challenges, Interventions, and Preventive Measures,” a massive book prepared by Horizon International at Yale University
The materials can be used without Internet access. Individuals are free to copy them for their own use; however GDAE can only send them to university libraries, where they are to be made available to all of the library’s users.
