How can we not understand the frustration and fury felt by billions of people surviving in poverty, indigence, forgetfulness, the indifference of others!! Harder when they know the outrageous opulence of a few who ruthlessly accumulate the wealth of the world and ensure (they believe) impunity for what they do. An unacceptable situation of pain and opprobrium grows more and more.
Options to overcome this fearsome trap are not lacking. The most dangerous is that blinded by revenge and violence. History shows that violence opens floodgates for greater violence. Because those who cling to their privileges not only control repressive forces but also use fragmented societies as cannon fodder with deception or bribes; they pit poor against poor, people against people. Even if violence obtains immediate gains, the risk is high that it will end up being short-lived. Let us also add that there is no lack of opportunists infiltrated in popular causes just seeking to set themselves up as new dominators.
No one possesses by himself the truth that explains and guides, not even those of us who write these lines. That truth turned into a referential utopia and even more so the strategies to dismantle the subjugations are collective constructions, always singular sustained by the historical and present circumstances that each nation, each community is going through. But it is worth noting how crucial it is to advance in clarification to fully understand what happens and why it happens in such a way. This orientates, allows us to recognize brotherhoods and interests that can complement each other, be aligned. Along with clarification emerge valuable paths of peace, which have nothing to do with fear or cowardice. Madly destroying does not lead to building a society based on equity and respect for others, with spaces where majorities meet and prevail.
Peace does not imply naivety or misguided directions. On the contrary, the conjunction of clarification and peace firmly strengthens efforts to overcome subjugation.
