Opinion Sur
2009 comes with the hope that it will be a better year for all. It would be so if each one adds some more generosity, justice, firmness and understanding in the way we relate to others. There are indeed uncontrollable natural forces but there are many others that depend on our free will and determination. Our greater wish for the New Year is that we choose to offer a little bit more of the best we have inside us.
Opinión Sur has reacted to the world crisis by warning about what is basically at stake: it is not a question of resuming the course that led us to the crisis but of working better, more sustainable ways of functioning. It is in this direction that we are seeking to orient our articles.
This New Year we are introducing a new character in Opinión Sur: Worldie; a cartoon on current affairs which is a joint effort with a young, very promising cartoonist, Juan García Guevara. We hope our readers will like it.
