Determination and clarification in the face of discouragement

When discouragement spreads overwhelmed by problems, societies can lower their arms and surrender to those who dominate. That is, they reinforce the same scoundrels who systematically promote discouragement in order to deceive, repress, subdue and then brutally loot defenseless majorities. By surrendering, people turn to behaviors that distance them from being able to address social discouragement, among others, fear of suffering, permanent frustrations and regrets, trivialization of perspectives, nihilism, isolation in supposed refuges, denial of community ties. In one way or another, it involves alienation from one’s own freewill making it difficult to recognize what is happening and its causes. It is a process that facilitates the oppression and robberies that looters keep masked to nullify resistance.

To resolve these crossroads there are no magic recipes due to the complexity of the situations, the diversity of forces that confront each other, the acceleration of technological dynamics, the bloody environmental burden. However, we know that discouragement can be faced with the determination to clarify and clarify ourselves, to organize and coordinate efforts, to recognize ourselves as part of collective constructions. Ostriches that hide heads in the face of fear, selfish people who avert the eyes of the suffering, individuals trapped in programmed dumbness, the suspicion of diversity, the closed distrust of others, that and much more does not serve to build peacefully and in solidarity.

That there are risks in facing challenges is also true, but the greatest risk is to fall into chains, silenced, cornered in caves, that tremendous myth related by Plato  that Socrates used to guide people from ignorance to knowledge. That’s where we’re at.
