Awesome mobilization of resources

The dynamics of the international crisis begins to feel the impact of the measures being taken to address it. It still retains its virulence and destructive potentiality, but attempts are being made to channel it towards a somewhat more controlled way out. Huge amounts of resources, a significant portion of the savings and assets of our countries, are compromised in the attempt. We must be aware that this is what is going on. We are in the presence of an awesome mobilization of our resources, perhaps one of the greatest ever attempted. This is neither the last nor the only global effort we can, or will, make; yet, given its dimension and what it is capable of generating, it is worth being used properly.

It is clear that this is not a question of returning to the harbors of inequality, lack of control, imposition by the strongest, from which we departed. The flow of history does not recede, but it can lead us to new hazardous situations. In fact, it is impossible to have “everything” solved once and for all, but it is worth the while buttressing the progress made, setting new courses that may help us get closer to more promising places in the evolution of humanity. We have learned that processes are not lineal or single-dimensional; there are regressions amidst progress, falling and starting all over again, directionalities are crossed and adjusted. There are multiple captains because there are infinite vessels, carts and digital avenues in this march; we are close to becoming 7,000 million beings sharing this planet. It would be good if we got to know each other better, recognized us in our sovereign diversity and in the community of aspirations that we bear in our minds and emotions. This is not just a question of needs; it is also a matter of purposes, of breathing a freedom that belongs to everyone, of a search for meaning. It is the departure of some, and the birth of others. It is working and contemplating. It is to know something about the grain of sand that is a part of the immense and enigmatic universe.

As always, we hope that you find these articles interesting and useful in your own searches, just like Opinión Sur nurtures permanently from so many sources and sentiments.

Cordial greetings,
