In Latin America, in African countries, in Greece, Spain, Portugal, Italy and many other latitudes, the social willpower to build their own inclusive solutions is growing, tailored to the singularities of each situation and moment. That is, leaving behind perspectives and solutions from hegemonic groups that so much harm and pain have caused, and moving forward through new paths with independence, responsibility, and dignity.
Today, the Greek people require solidarity and comprehension of their own search. So many costly mistakes their traditional elites made that it is necessary to change the course and carve a new trajectory. It is not an easy transition they face as strong opposing interests are at stake and it is well known that privilege is never willing to graciously surrender the spaces it controls. It is necessary to confront the greed of their creditors and the eagerness they express to make an example of those who insubordinate to their mandates.
All peoples from the world, particularly from Europe, are called upon to defend every country’s right to exercise its own free will and decision making. New paths could bring new options instead of the dead end alley that a few minorities are imposing as the only possible course. As more of the same does not help but punishes, many of the new options are out there to be explored. Courage and determination are needed to try them.
