Since the beginning of humanity, there were conquests of some over the others. Colonization eliminated civilizations, subdued entire peoples, cornered up large majorities to misery. Always, painfully always, wars and oppressions kill, leaving a ton of victims and fractured societies with people crippled in their bodies and souls, orphans of Mother Earth.
Today, three major sibylline minotaurs prevail, which fight for preserving or expanding their areas of influence and, do not forget, as well as many smaller minotaurs scattered all around the world. They all invade, subdue, conquer to appropriate resources and “ensure” security, or so they say. They use brute force, exercising it or as a deterrent. They also destabilize democratic governments with the complicity of those who always have betrayed their own peoples.
It is difficult to survive the onslaught of sibylline minotaurs conceived in the shadows of sinister geopolitical tensions. Areas of influence for them, the world astonished losing light and understanding. However, they revive one and a thousand times the desires for other courses and ways of functioning. What audacity and tenacity! Millions of people of goodwill, with names and no dead weight, navigating through ingenuities and alienations that stun, aspiring to live in peace, with justice and equity, caring for all and the planet. They long for spaces that are not the areas of influence of no minotaur, far away from greed, endless profit, degradation of the other and migrants, without remembering who we were. Lending a hand, and no longer the fist.
When understanding gets foggy, clarification. When selfishness and disorientation overwhelm, social organization. The eternal challenge of generation after generation. Therein is where we are.
