More strategic thinking

Continuing with Opinion Sur’s mandate of developing useful strategic thinking for our countries, in this issue we focus on three critical areas.

In the geopolitical field we resume the topic of tax havens and the substantial impact that those tax secret jurisdictions have on our Southern hemisphere countries.

In the development field (sustainable, inclusive) we emphasize the need to encourage transformational productive investment instead of facilitating financial allocations that reproduce value extraction mechanisms, main support of the wealth concentration process that affects the entire world.
In the field of important transformations, we publish the first of a series of articles by Neva Goodwin, invited contributor that addresses the need to transform the prevailing economic theory as to grasp dimensions of the economic reality which that theory is not capable nor is interested in unraveling.
