In this issue we present important social and economic considerations by Pope Francis, serious threats faced by the Asian economic ‘model’ and an analysis on the manipulation of expectations. Such different subjects share however a common denominator that is not always properly made explicit: how ideologies and interests decisively influence our vision of processes, the interpretation of what happens and the configuration of expectations; which, at the same time, influences public and private action, the social and individual development trajectories.
Complex and multidimensional is the context where we move and live in. Sometimes it adds light, affection, enlightenment, dialogue; other times shades, aggressions, selfishness, and masking. What exists today was built with all the contradictions and setbacks we know and many others we don’t know, with the tumbles, sufferings and joys that came along from the dawn of mankind. It is not now thetime to be intimidated but to reflect and improve the construction. That is where we are.
Cordial greeting.
