Editors’ Note

In this issue we analyze two phenomena that for some are not interconnected while for others, including Opinión Sur, are intimately related: unstable systemic functioning and socioeconomic inequality. One of the articles focuses on the debate around very divergent global crisis exit strategies, and how each one of them might impact economic recovery. Another one tries to explain the mechanisms through which inequality generates an economic dynamics that contributes to spark off systemic crises, such as the current one whose epicenter is located in affluent countries. We hope you find them useful.

We are pleased to announce that Opinión Sur is now offering to conduct also in English the micro-credit in the 21st century working session. The [English->http://www.opinionsur.org.ar/Working%20Session%20Microcredit%20for%20the%20XXI%20Century.pdf] and [Spanish->http://www.opinionsur.org.ar/Jornada%20de%20trabajo%20Microcredito%20Siglo%20XXI.pdf] versions for this working session are available.

For this August issue we have not had the contribution of our New York-based co-editor, who is on a business trip followed by a short vacation.

Cordial greetings,

The Editors
