How many things happen, hide, disguise behind appearances!! Interest that cannot be defended in the open, privileges and perks that if disclosed would alter and revolt the spirits even more; betrayals and disloyalties that crouch; high-sounding declarations reporting acts and behaviors to conceal our own flaws and pettiness. Undeniably, socioeconomic processes are full of subtle mechanisms to hide injustices and inequities. Who would defend overtly inequality, poverty and indigence! And yet they are not only there but they reproduce without mercy or remorse. The widening divergence between the effective power held by powerful groups and the weak official leadership in the whole world, makes mankind lose control over its problems and challenges.
Fortunately,quite a few are trying to unveil what goes on behind appearances. They seek to identify working logics and dynamics, to establish causes, implications, effects; to build paths leading to transformations and improvements. On that march we need to set courses that enable bringing other wills together and to serve as guidance on the direction of so many diverse efforts. Where is the north? Which are the options? It is time to envisage, to create the non-existent, to make transformations possible. In that pursuit and building it is worth having a referential utopia; a vision of a desired and possible future, hopes and expectations included; a reference to organize better trajectories and unmask open or subtle villainies. We feel that efforts to make way to something better are growing in all latitudes. With due modesty, we hope that the articles of Opinion Sur contribute to that end.
