An in depth analysis of the new global situation that arises from the course chosen to pull out of the crisis is very much needed. Large-scale geopolitical transformations are taking place and are expressed in the greater prominence of countries such as China, India, Brazil, and other handful of emerging economies. Does that open up opportunities for the rest of the Southern Hemisphere countries? Adjustments within countries have also been noted, but do those changes favor the disadvantaged majorities?
If we could not abate the profound inequalities that prevail among countries and, within countries, among segments of their populations, we would be reproducing one of the principal causes of global instability and its recurrent crises. The articles in this edition of Opinión Sur are intended as a contribution to address these two challenges.
We reiterate our request for financial support from those who may be in a position to offer it.
Cordial greetings,
