Regarding our own trunk

European university must yield to Latin American university. Latin America’s history, from the Incas until now, should be taught in detail, even if that of Greek’s archons is not taught.  Our Greece is preferable to the Greece that it is not ours. It is more necessary to us. National politicians must replace exotic politicians. The world should be engrafted into our Republics; but the trunk must be that of our Republics

José Martí

Zygmunt Bauman

Marguerite Yourcenar
