About asphyxiation resulting from the lack of language

The challenge lies in making students understand that language is a constitutive element, that they are nothing without grammar. That if they do not acquire that toolbox, their thoughts will end up asphyxiating them in the physical sense of the word; because they will not have a structured discourse, they will not know how to exteriorize their emotions.
Daniel Pennac

About being right

Do you want to be right or happy?
Buenos Aires street graffiti

About tolerance

I tried to instil tolerance in my children. Tolerance towards what is different, unknown, towards diversity. Its absence has generated wars, persecutions and infinite pain.
Pedro Bäker.

About replacing public squares with media space

Another basic contemporary notion is that of public space not subject to any censure whatsoever. In that space a rational debate must take place. In recent decades, however, mass communication has transformed that space. Today, the media space takes the place of the public square, which has ceased to be public and has become media-driven, because the media are, above all, corporations.
Rafael Roncagliolo
