The Global Environment Facility (GEF) Small Grants Program is implemented by the United Nations Development Program (UNDP) and pursues the following goals: contributing to solve environmental problems of global interest related to the conservation of biodiversity, the mitigation of climate change, the prevention of earth degradation and the reduction in the use of persistent organic contaminants, as well as improving the quality of life of local communities. Ceibal Plan

Ceibal “Basic IT for on line learning educational connectivity” is a socio educational project jointly developed by the Ministry of Education and Culture, the Technological Laboratory of Uruguay, the National Administration of Telecommunications (ANTEL) and the National Administration of Public Education (ANEP).

They encourage equality of opportunity regarding access to technology, the democratization of knowledge and the streamlining of learning at school and in the experiential context of the students. This is an attempt at narrowing the existing digital gap. The notebooks created for the students are light, easy to transport and very resistant, what enables them to work in places other than the classroom.
