Favelas’ development in Río de Janeiro
The Morar carioca project intends to develop 215 favelas in Río de Janeiro,
Brazil, by 2020. Its purpose is to integrate them into the formal city more and more. So far the favelados were not considered regular citizens because they did not have a zip code or a bank account. The architects’ proposals seek to humanize the favelas through art providing them with the color and expression that are typical of real neighborhoods.

Dehydrated Watermelon Sweet
A watermelon red pigment contains substances that can prevent illnesses as it has an antioxidant capacity that deters the action of free radicals (very reactive atoms that can trigger a chain reaction jeopardizing cells). With the purpose of making healthy and tasty sweet, a team of Argentine women scientists designed dehydrated watermelon candy in different shapes and sizes.
