First Genome to Be Fully Deciphered and Financed in Argentina

How did life on Earth begin? Can there be life on other planets in an environmental context totally different from the one we know? After deciphering the first genome in a micro-organism living in extreme environmental conditions, a group of scientists from the Argentine National Council of Scientific and Technical Research (CONICET) feel they are ready to venture an answer.

Recycling of Plastic Packaging

In Brazil, brooms are made from bottles recovered from garbage. Their manufacturer works with social organizations (which supply it with the material), provides training, and withdraws from the streets more than three thousand bottles per day.
