Music for risk situation children and adolescents: orchestra school from Chascomús

This initiative originated as a social and artistic proposal to offer an educational tool based on music as a personality-structuring element for children and adolescents from schools of the Chascomús area (province of Buenos Aires, Argentina). Risk situation sectors are the focus of this project, whose aim is to promote the integral development of each youth. 35 students participated in it at the beginning; today more than 400 students –ages 3 to 21- are taking part. Teachers, professors, musicians of diverse professional backgrounds –national and international- collaborate with the team of more than 40 docents the institution counts on.

“International Prize from Dubai on Best Practices to transform the living conditions” 2008 Edition

This is the seventh edition of this prize whose aim is to acknowledge and highlight the importance of sustainable achievements reached in this field. Granted by the United Nations UN-HABITAT, its purpose is to reward Best Practices and mainly to identify and broadcast innovative experiences that have improved the living conditions of the communities where they are carried out. The Esquel Group/ Grupo Esquel

The Esquel Group is a civil association based in Washington, DC, that promotes sustainable development in Latin America.
