In the West, the sovereignty of countries is subject to the designs of powerful global actors operating across national borders. They have emerged as helmspersons of trajectories that only they and their accomplices favor, while huge population majorities and environmental security are severely affected. Their irrepressible expansive dynamics even leads them to venture into markets in countries such as China, Russia, India, among others, with greater political capacity to resist their siege.
What is undeniable is that the trajectory imposed on the world has become socially and environmentally unsustainable. However, despite the harsh reaction of the planet and the crushing of entire nations, it maintains its suicidal course. How will the peoples of the world change the global course?
There are many interests at stake that will need to be aligned. Otherwise, it is difficult to form a transformative power. Efforts at clarification and social and geopolitical organization are essential to building inclusive coalitions. No isolated country, no social group can “save” itself on its own. More than being saved, today the epic is about building a better world for all. Nothing simple, all complex but it can, should be achieved. It is time to look for those encounters, to join that epic.
